If you're planning to replace the intake manifold, remove the throttle body now (see Chapter 4). If you're only removing the intake manifold to replace a manifold gasket or to service the cylinder head, it's not necessary to remove the throttle body. Just unplug the electrical connector from the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) or the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) and detach the coolant hoses from the underside of the throttle body (see Chapter 4).
