Q: How to remove and install Cruise Control Switch and Hazard Warning Switch on Hyundai Sonata?
A: Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. For 2010 and earlier models, remove the fuse panel cover from the end of the instrument panel, reach through the opening to push the switch assembly out, and disconnect the wiring harness; installation is the reverse of removal. For 2011 and later models, use a plastic trim tool to pry the brightness control switch out of the instrument panel, disconnect the electrical connector, and remove the switch, with installation being the reverse of removal. For the hazard warning light switch in 2005 and earlier models, remove the upper center instrument panel bezel, disconnect the wiring, and remove the switch, with installation being the reverse of removal. In 2006 through 2010 models, remove the center narrow horizontal trim molding, take out the screw from the bottom of the hazard switch plate, pry the switch out from the bottom, and disconnect the wiring, with installation being the reverse of removal. For 2011 and later models, remove the center console upper trim panels from each side, take out the center trim panel mounting screws, pry out the center trim panel and vents, disconnect the electrical connector, and press the switch out of the trim panel, with installation being the reverse of removal. For the start/stop button in keyless entry, remove the driver's side lower trim panel, take out the center lower side trim panel fasteners and trim panel, remove the start/stop button trim panel fasteners, lower the trim panel, disconnect the electrical connector, depress the two retaining tabs on the button, and push the button through the trim panel, with installation being the reverse of removal.
