Hyundai Santa Fe Fog Light Bulb Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace Fog Light Bulb and various light bulbs in a Hyundai Santa Fe?
A: Post 2007 models include Body Control Module that controls such items as the windscreen wipers, rear fog lamps, rear lamp clusters, auto lighting features, daytime running lights, interior warning lights, window anti-pinch feature, power door locks, security systems and HVAC control for the front and rear AC. If problems are encountered in the said systems and normal diagnostic measures do not work, it is recommended that the BCM be sent for a check up in a professional service department. For front turn signal bulbs one has to reach behind the headlight housing, then to rotate the bulb holder counter clockwise to remove it and then install a bulb. Front side marker lights are removed through the process of unscrewing the mounting screw, detaching the wiring harness, and unscrewing anti-clockwise the bulb holder. Fog lamp bulbs require the front bumper cover or plastic inner fender liners to be removed together with the electrical connector, then the bulb holder to be turned anti-clockwise. To replace the center high-mounted brake light bulb, one has to open the rear hatch, take off screw covers, disconnect the electrical connector and then remove the bulb holder. For the rear brake/tail, the rear hatch is opened to release the screws and turn the holder anticlockwise for the bulb required to be replaced such as the turn signal and back-up light bulbs. These license plate light bulbs are changed by unscrewing the housing and using fingers pulling the bulb in the backward direction. Trunk and some other interior light bulbs can be found by pulling the lens and disconnecting the bulb from the terminal. The glove box light may be changed by first lowering the glove box door, then removing the bulb holder and disconnecting the wiring. Replacement of all the bulbs is done in the same sequence as their removal, that is in the reverse manner.
