Before losing the functionality of the airbag module, it is recommendable to straighten the steering wheel and turn off the car through the key ignition switch, and -terminal cable of the battery. Loosen the two captive screws of the steering wheel, and for Tone-headed screws holding the airbag module, it is appropriate to use a Torx socket. Slowly remove the airbag module and do not apply force on the wires; then, unclip the wire connectors and set the airbag aside with the pad facing up. Scribe match marks on the steering shaft and hub for easy re-assembly, then unbolt the horseshoe collar by removing nut and two screws in the horn circuitry. Shake the rim to try and take the steering wheel out; if it does not work, then you need to remove the steering wheel using a puller; never hammer on it. Lift the wheel from the column and while putting the wires on the wheel, be very cautious. In this case, the practical advice is as follows: for installation, the front wheels should be directed to the forward position, and if the clock spring is off-center, shift the hub. Place the wheels in such a manner that the marked portion on the steering wheel hub matches with the marked portion on the shaft, slide the wheel onto the shaft and then fasten it using the nut of right standard torque. Connect the electrical connectors for airbag, making sure that the lock of the module connector is properly connected. Connect the negative battery terminal negatively and replace the air bag module before you tighten the screws of the module to the recommended torque specification.
