    Q:
How to replace spark plugs on Hyundai Santa Fe? Posted by Customer
    A:
Notice, a spark plug socket having a rubber grommet should be used to change these plugs. It prevents the porcelain insulator from being damaged and secures the plug in place. Make sure you have the right plugs for your car before starting. Inspect new plugs for any flaws like porcelain cracks. Removing all engine covers, it's important to also disconnect certain hoses or parts that may inhibit access. In V6 engines, elimination of upper intake manifold may be required prior reaching rear spark plugs. Disconnect wires of ignition coils or coil wiring and if need be remove them together with their packs. Take a little compressed air to clean out around those spark plugs. Use an appropriate spark plug socket plus extension to remove them out properly. Compare the Old Plugs to Reference Materials for Evaluation of Engine Condition Apply anti-seize compound on the threads of the plug and put short piece of hose on top as this helps alignment and avoid cross threading when inserting it into the head Tighten these up and attach your wires securely Lastly fix those components which were detached again.
