To check the wiper motor circuit on 2007 and later models equipped with a Body Control Module (BCM), which manages various systems including windshield wipers, ensure the battery is in good condition and fully charged if the wipers operate slowly. If the battery is fine, remove the wiper motor and manually operate the wiper arms to check for binding in the linkage and pivots, lubricating or repairing as necessary before reinstalling the motor. If the wipers still operate slowly, inspect for loose or corroded connections, particularly the ground connection, and replace the motor if all connections appear satisfactory. If the wipers do not activate, check the fuse in the driver's side interior fuse panel; if the fuse is intact, connect a jumper wire between the wiper motor's ground terminal and ground, then retest. If the motor operates, repair the ground connection; if not, check for voltage at the motor when the wiper switch is in the HI position, removing the cowl cover for access. If voltage is present at the connector, test the motor off the vehicle with jumper wires from the battery, checking for binding linkage if it works. If the motor does not work, replace it, and if there is no voltage to the motor, check the wiper control relays. For an inoperative interval function, check the wiring continuity between the switch and wiper control module. If the wipers fail to park when the switch is turned off, check for voltage at the park feed wire of the wiper motor connector with the ignition ON. For replacement, remove the wiper arm mounting nuts, mark the position of each wiper arm, and remove them. Then, take off the plastic cowl cover, disconnect the electrical connector from the wiper motor, and remove the mounting bolts to lift the wiper motor and link assembly out. Pry the linkage rod from the crank arm pivot, remove the crank arm nut while marking its relationship to the motor shaft, and separate the motor from the link rod assembly. Installation follows the reverse order. For the rear wiper motor, remove the rear wiper arm retaining nut, mark the relationship of the rear wiper arm to the motor shaft, and remove the arm. Then, take off the trim panel from the rear hatch, disconnect the electrical connector from the rear wiper motor, and remove the mounting bolts to take out the motor, with installation being the reverse of removal.
