For 2005 and earlier models, vehicles may have either a fixed-mast antenna or an electric version. To remove a fixed-mast antenna, turn the hex at the bottom of the mast counterclockwise. Electric antennas can be accessed through the luggage compartment by removing the inner trunk side liner, disconnecting the wiring and cable from the antenna, and then removing the mounting screws to lower the antenna assembly, with installation being the reverse of removal. For 2006 and later models, these vehicles feature a wire grid-type antenna attached to the rear window glass. If issues arise, the antenna grid can be repaired similarly to the rear window defogger grid, and it is important to check the antenna connection at the rear of the audio unit before diagnosing any problems with the antenna itself.
