Hyundai Excel Spark Plug Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace spark plug on Hyundai Excel?
A: The items that are needed to replace a spark plug include spark plug socket, torque wrench, ratchet, extension and wire-type feeler gauge. Buy correct new plugs for your specific vehicle ahead of time, adjust them to the right gap and change each plug one by one. Inspect every new plug for defects especially cracks in porcelain insulator.locate the outer electrode gaps with wire gauges for new plugs and modify if required. Use notched adjuster if the side electrode is not directly above the center electrode. For models from 1986 through 2005 do not mix up Spark Plug Wires by working on only one plug at a time. Remove the boot and wire from a single spark plug by grasping the boot and giving it half a twist. With 2006 and later models remove ignition coils. In case available before continuing blow any dirt or foreign material away from the spark plug area using compressed air.Remove each old spark plugs then compare them with each other to determine how well engine runs generally. To avoid cross-threading when inserting spark plugs into their holes put a short section of rubber hose over the end of the spark plugs. In order to position it correctly over its hole, take advantage of this flexible hose that acts like universal joint.Should thread start going off track, the hose would slip over the part that has crossed threads so as to prevent damage being done on threads.Tighten it securely.Inserting The Plug Wire On The New Spark Plug Twist The Boot Around Until It Is Firmly Seated On The End Of The Spark Plug. The rest of these spark plugs should be installed following these same directions one at a time so we don't have any mix-ups with our wires.
